tiol Youth Day observed

SILCHAR, Jan 13: The members of Jan Shikshan Sansthan observed the 153rd birth anniversary of Swami Vivekanda, known as tiol Youth Day, in the premises of their office in rsing Road (west) of Ambikapatty area of the town on Tuesday.  The program began with the lighting of the auspicious lamp by Baikhunthanda Maharaj of Ramakrish Mission Silchar, who was also the chief guest on the occasion.

 Sauvik Das Choudhury, director in charge of the Silchar unit of Jan Shikshan Sansthan (JSS), said till date the organization has provided training to more than 1875 women under various skill-development and training initiatives of the government. The women of the valley are immensely talented, all they need is a bit of proper guidance to succeed in life.

 Baikhunthanda Maharaj praised the initiatives undertaken by the Sansthan to empower the youth particularly the women of the valley. He said that empowering the youth to successfully face the challenges of modern times is the need of the hour. The Maharaj urged upon the youth to follow the ideals and principles of Swami Vivekanda for a disciplined and healthy life.

 Mash Bhattacharjee, member of the Sansthan, said JSS was established to provide skill oriented training to the school dropouts for their sustence. The Silchar unit of the Sansthan which was established more than 30 years ago is the first of its kind in North East India. It has been working selflessly for the uplift of the masses of the valley. Others present on the occasion included Amitav Singh, faculty of Department of LLB., Assam University, Sunda ndi Purkayastha, Suniti Kumar Burman and Bimal th Choudhury.
