tionwide strike affects normal life in Dhekiajuli

DHEKIAJULI, Sept 3:  The tionwide trade union sponsored Bharat bandh affected normal life in Dhekiajuli on Friday. Government offices, banks, educatiol institutions and  business establishments were totally closed in Dhekiajuli town.  Protesters from different labour unions took out out rallies and shouted  anti-government slogans  at the NH-15 and blocked the NH-15. Later police came and the protesters were arrested and brought to the Dhekiajuli Police Station. But due to the insufficient  lock-up space   inside Dhekiajuli  Police Station, the protesters were kept near Swahid Maidan. Later in the evening, the arrested protesters were released by the Dhekiajuli Police. The labour and trade union bodies later handed over a memorandum to the Deputy Superintendent of Police which contained their charter of long-standing demands.
