MORIGAON, June 15: Chief Executive Member Paban Manta has denied all allegations made against the Tiwa Autonomous Council (TAC) in the me of Public Distribution System (PDS). At a press meet on Thursday, the CEM said that a section of members of the previous committee of TAC were spreading rumours against the present TAC committee in order to make the TAC unstable. He said that the order put for distribution of materials of TAC was issued as per the decision of the tender committee. Also, as per accepted decision during the general meeting of TAC, the construction committee regulated various schemes under TAC for implementation. On the other hand, it is mentioned that there was no order passed by the government to dissolve the construction committee. So the committee had to take initiative to complete the construction works.
For proper Public Distribution System, a committee was formed at the general meeting held on June 8. The committee will inquire into alleged irregularities and anomalies during the previous committee of TAC and the committee will bring the accused persons under law.
The CEM alleged that the notorious section of members of the previous committee had used noted Tiwa folk dancer, diram Deuri as a weapon. diram Deuri had sought Rs 45,80,000 as fincial assistance to organize the Tiwa Folk Culture Festival -2017 held from February 2 to February 5 at Sagrasal, Jagiroad in Morigaon district. But the present TAC committee was uble to provide fincial assistance to them as there was no fund deposited in TAC.
The CEM said that grabbing the opportunity, the notorious section filed a petition at Gauhati High Court questioning the construction committee. Then, the high court, after discussing with both applicants and TAC authority, gave a verdict to the Commissioner of WPT and BC for sending a notification against it.
