TK Consortium bags tiol award

ITAGAR, March 9: The Itagar based T K Engineering Consortium Pvt Ltd won multiple awards during the 8th CIDC Vishwakarma Award function held on Monday at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi.

Construction Industry Development Council (CIDC), a body constituted by erstwhile Planning Commission of India has instituted the award to acknowledge the efforts of pvt ltd companies in construction sectors contributing to the development of infrastructures in the country.

The 8th edition of CIDC Vishwakarma award programme also marked its 20th annual day celebration, a press release informed.

T K Engineering won awards in category of best professiolly maged company and best construction project for double laning of Papu-Yupia-Hoj Potin Road.

T K Engineering maging director Techi Jully and project director Syed Ghiyasuddin accepted the award on behalf of TK group.

The major award winner in various categories included Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) Hindustan Construction Company (HCC), Central Public Works Department (CPWD), Central Road Research Institute(CRRI), NCC Ltd, Goa Shipyard Limited, Indian Oil Corporation, Godrej Properties Ltd, Tata Housing Development Company Ltd, GMR (Hyderabad), Airport Authority of India etc.

Hundreds of construction companies from across the India were nomited for the award.

Central Information Commission chief information commissioner, R K Mathur, who attended the function, urged the award winners to continue to strive hard to achieve more success.

“Vishwakarma Award started by CIDC has become a prestigious award over the years. There is growing realization that it is infrastructure sector which will propel growth engine of India. So, this award instituted to recognize the pioneers of construction sector assumes more significance.”

Chairman of jury Pradip Bhargava, former additiol chief secretary, Madhya Pradesh said award has been given to those companies that used fair means and one who is contributing for the development of the tion.

“We received nomition from Kashmir to Kanyakumari and Gujarat to Aruchal Pradesh. In the last six month, jury members traveled across country and made field visits. After going through strict procedure, we selected the winners.

We are hopeful that this award will inspire the winners to continue to give quality work,” said Bhargava.

He also especially praised T K Engineering for taking up infrastructure projects in a difficult place like Aruchal Pradesh.

This is the second major recognition for T K group in 2016.

Earlier in January, T K Engineering was awarded gold during the intertiol quality crown award function held at London, United Kingdom, the release added.
