TMPK demands Ali-Aye-Ligang as State holiday

DHEMAJI, Feb 14: The TMPK observed a sit-in demonstration programme at each district headquarters and ITDP offices on February 11 from 11 am demanding Ali-Aye- Ligang as a State holiday.  It also demanded release of the pending post-Matric scholarships to the ST students of the session 2012-13, 2013-14 and 2014-15, immediate postponing of the Matric examition scheduled to be held on the Ali-Aye-Ligang festival, appointment of teachers subject wise or class wise to develop quality education and demanded stopping of the construction of Lower Subansiri Hydro Electric Project without adequate safeguards.The programme was attended by TMPK, MMK members, among others.
