To save the rhino is a challenge I have taken up: Pramila Rani Brahma

JORHAT, July 5: State Forest Minister Pramila Rani Brahma iugurated the Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar Bhavan in Jorhat on Tuesday which has been funded by the Directorate of Scheduled Caste Welfare Department.

“To save the rhino I will go to any extent, and it is a challenge I have taken up. I will do everything to save rhinos in all the tural parks in Assam,” said the Forest Minister after iugurating the Dr BR Ambedkar Bhavan

She congratulated Roshni Aparanjita Korati, the Deputy Commissioner I/c for helping out to construct this beautiful multi-storey building which has been funded by the Directorate of Scheduled Caste Welfare Board with an amount of Rs 50 lakh.

Brahma called upon the gathering and students present to make good use of the building. The meeting was presided over by Hitendra th Goswami, Jorhat MLA, while Jorhat MP Kamakhya Prasad Tasa, Bhaben Bharali, MLA Dergaon and Manuranjan Dutta, Secretary of the Scheduled Caste Welfare department were present during the iugural ceremony.

The minister further said that present government under the leadership of Sarbanda Sonowal had to lead the State from zero balance and they were facing a serious economic crisis. She also gave out the sigl that more corrupt officials who have looted lakhs of rupees during the past 15 years would soon be brought to book one after another. “Many scams have come to light that took place during the previous government’s rule. For example, an amount of Rs 1.5 crore was sanctioned for a model village but that model village did not come up while the money was siphoned off,” she said.
