Annual parents' meet of Sacred Heart English Medium School held at Magurmari

KOKRAJHAR, November 6: Rev. Fr. Kulandai Swamy, who has founded number of missiory schools in the region including Assam, BTAD areas and Aruchal Pradesh said that the human qualities have been enlighten through the selfless endeavor of Christian Missiories who are giving education to the poor and under privileged people.

Addressing the gathering in an annual parents’ meet of Sacred Heart English Medium School of Magurmari near Kokrajhar as chief guest today, Swamy said he worked for the enlighten of society through imparting quality education since 1985 in the region and founded a missiory school at Barama which is now a centre of good education.

He said the Sacred Heart School at Magurmari, 5 km West of Kokrajhar town was far behind in terms of good education. People could not afford education in good English Medium schools that time but the Sacred Heart School in the locality provided all affordable facilities for the poor which is now becoming a good education centre, he said adding that the human qualities of the locality has been increased and society gets improved to satisfactory level.

He also called upon the students and guardians to work hard and be disciplined through which the school also achieved its present level.

It may be mentioned that Rev. Fr. Kulandai Swamy was the first missiory who established a Bodo medium school with equal standard of English Medium School at Bijni in Chirang district in 2000 which also produces commendable results every year in the HSLC examition.

Swamy, who is totally indifferent with other missiory leaders, has deep respect towards the cultural heritage of the locality and he used to reflect the identity of the local people through the design in the constructions.

Besides, he has respect towards the traditions and festivals of local people.

The Principal of the Sacred Heart English Medium School Rev. Fr. Silveraj said the students of today are the leaders of tomorrow.

He called upon the students and guardians to pay heed towards the competitive education. He also hailed the teachers of the school for their dedication for the qualitative education.

The cultural show by the school students attracted the guardians. The students performed different cultural items like Bodo dance, Adivasi dance, Rabha dance, Bihu dance, Barbi dance and one act play etc.
