Toilets built by Believers' Church opened in Chirang

KOKRAJHAR, Sept 18:  The Believers’ Eastern Church Diocese of Bongaigaon iugurated 30 toilets at different villages like Tulsijora, Bashbari, New Amguri, Habrubill (Jordanpur), Tasobilli, Daolabari, and Borhali under Kokrajhar division of Chirang district recently. Dr KP Yohann, the Metropolitan Bishop of Believers Eastern Church took the initiative to facilitate the moderate-type sanitation facility as per church capacity and norms. The Church also intends to promote awareness on hygiene and keeping the environment clean.

Rev.Fr. Ajay Tulsiary, the Vicar General of Bongaigaon Diocese, urged the people to avoid relieving themselves on the roadside and instead use a toilet made of bamboo and wood till they could afford a concrete toilet. Som Hasda lives in village Tulsijora under Karigaon Police Station of Kokrajhar district. They are four members in their family. He said, “Earlier, we used our neighbour’s toilet and it was very cumbersome at many times but now we are happy to have a toilet built by the church.”

At the iuguration programme held at different places, Rev.Fr. Angra rzary, Janosh Borgoyary, Balendra Basumatary, Sujuk Basumatary, Rinon Basumatary, Ramesh Murmu and heads of the villages were present.
