Toilets in every school under SVA

Itagar, June 2: Secretary (Education) Marnya Ete has instructed all district education authorities to take Swachh Vidyalaya Abhiyan on priority and ensure early construction of toilets under the mission in every school.

Attending an orientation workshop cum meeting to review construction of separate toilets for boys and girls in schools under SVA at SIRD conference hall here recently, the secretary cautioned all the DDSEs, JEs and civil work coorditors to perform with seriousness.

Strict monitoring and supervision of works should be carried out regularly involving respective Deputy Commissioners and other departments, Eta said. He urged the Deputy Commissioners and DDSEs not to make payment of bills unless the constructions are completed with proper water connection.

SSA State Project Director Opak Gao suggested all the DDSEs to maintain separate account books and registers. He emphatically urged all the DDSEs to repair all the toilets which were constructed earlier but are in bad shape.

Nodal Officer cum SVA Programme Coorditor M. Kamki highlighted and urged all the district education administrators to follow the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Human Resource Development and SSA Rajya Mission for effective implementation of the programme. He presented the progress report and status of construction of toilets under SVA in all the districts. DDSEs, District Project Coorditors (DPCs), Block Education Officers (BEOs) cum BRCCs and Junior Engineers (JEs) of SSA, Zila Mission attended the meeting.
