TOP AMEWF LEADER ARRESTED

SHILLONG, March 20: The Publicity Secretary of Achik Matgrik Elite Force (AMEF) Chuang Togan N. Sangma of Nokgil Awe, Williamgar was apprehended from a City Hotel at Shillong on Friday. Acting on a specific tip off, the Shillong city police raided the hotel and apprehended him, although no arms was recovered from his possession.

The swooping team soon brought to the Police headquarters for interrogation. The Police refused to reveal the initial disclosures, but the 25 year old youth from East Garo Hills is the man behind many extortion notices and killings. A top senior police official told this correspondent that maximum of the cases are related to East Garo d North Garo Hills district. “ The look out for this self styled publicity responsible for many orchestrated militant strikes has been for long”, stated a senior police official.
