Top makeover expert to groom Shillong youths

SHILLONG, May 26: The first modeling institute in the state, Glam Sp a modeling agency, a creation of former Miss Shillong, Sanchia Khongwir and Rajiv Lyngdoh, has roped in Irmala Kane Sutterwala who groom the young boys and girls enrolled in the institute.

Irmala Kane Sutterwala has rub shoulders with the biggest mes in tinsel town, who is also a makeover consultant working closely with Femi Miss India.

Addressing the newsmen here on Thursday, Khongwir said, “This institute will groom small town girls and boys by providing them a platform to carve a niche for themselves in the fashion industry.”

Stating that the youths of the Northeast have the potential to find place in the intertiol fashion are, she said “The region is celebrated as the hub of fashion.”  According to her, the NE girls are very pretty. However they haven’t been exposed to a lot of modeling properly.

“I want to see them at par with everybody and the world as well as for them to be able to stand up on stage. The world will come to know where Northeast ultimately,” she added. She informed that enrolment will start on Friday and classes will begin after 5-10 models are enrolled in the first modeling institute in the State. Meanwhile, Sutterwala is confident that after she has trained them, the groomed models will be making a mark for themselves through competing in various pageants like Mrs World, Miss World etc giving the Northeastern youth a chance to follow in the footsteps of well-known fashion models like Aditi Gowitrikar, Aishwarya Rai, Madhu Sapre and Ujjwala Raut among others. He further said that Glam Sp is the stepping stone to the fashion world.
