Top seeds in semifils

GUWAHATI, July 4: Mali Bora, Ankita Rajkhowa, Megha Morcha Bora and Chimran Kalita entered into the semi fils of the 1st All Assam Ranking Badminton tourment held at the Kaklata Indoor stadium here today. Top seeded Mali (Golaghat) defeated Priyanka Das (Guwahati) by 21- 3, 21-2 in the quarter fils. Ankita, seeded three, moved into the last four without playing quarter fils as opponent Doreen Bora (Guwahati) gave walk over to her. Like Mali, fourth seeded Megha Morcha Bora also didn’t waste too much time to beat her opponent Surabhi Das (Guwahati) as she won the match straight game 21-3, 21-5. second seeded Chimran Kalita (Guwahti) also earned her semi fil ticket easily beating Barbie Sharma (Guwahti) by 21-11, 21-13. Meanwhile top seed Udayan Saikia of Digboi will face second seed N Yohenba Singh in the fil of the U-10 boy’s category. Udayan, in the semi fil, defeated Subankar Dutta of Sivasagar by 21-11, 21-14. Yohenba (Guwahati), second seeded,  won his semi fil tie against Borm Borah (Sivasagar) by 21-14, 21-12. In the boys U-17 singles Ritupor Bora (Guwahati), Pallav Bikash Baruah (zira), Angshuman Gogoi (Lakhimpur) and Lucas Bora (Sivasagar) moved into the semi fil by winning their quarter fils today.
