Top woman official of OIL killed in road accident

DULIA JAN, October 18: A top woman offial of OIL was killed in a road mishap at Borpather under Bhadoi Panchali Police beat here this morning. The victim has been identified as Rush Lochan Das (45), wife of late Tapan Das, who stayed at OIL’s Bunglow D+ 28 here.

Police sources said the accident took place when  the Maruti Esetem vehicle she was travelling plunged into the  road-side paddy filed losing its control near Borpathar. She was on the way to his Digboi home from Duliajan.  When locals informed the police about the accident , police immidaitely arrived at the spot and rushed her to hospital in a critical condition but she succmed to her injuries at OIL Hospital in Duliajan.

It may be mentioned that Das joined as junior officer at OIL in 1986 and later she was promoted as Senior Superintending Secretary to RCE of OIL, Jayanta Borgohain. Unfortutely her husband Tapan Das who served as Field Officer in OIL also died in a road accident few years back. She was survived by two sons.
