GUWAHATI, Nov 11: The 6th Topcem Challenge Football Tourment will kick off tomorrow at Mini Stadium, North Guwahati. Eight teams will take part in the championship which will be organized by Rudreswar Ajanta Club.
Addressing a media gathering Anil Kapur, the President, Sales and Marketing, Topcem Cement said, “This is a great opportunity for the young players to prove their skills in the game of football.” He also added: Topcem Cement always takes the responsibility to promote sports among the young generation.
The opening game will be played between Karbi Anglong FC and Goreswar Gatsha. The other teams in the competition are Bamundi FC, Alari Afat FC, Khoirabari, Krishak United club, Boko Football Club, North Eastern Zone FC, GC, CRPF, Guwahati and Rudreswar Ajanta Club.The champion team of this knock out meet will get Rs 40,000 while the runners up will be richer by Rs 25,000. Meanwhile with an aim to promote women soccer, an exhibition match will be held on November 13 between gaon Fc and Boko Fc. The media briefing was also attended by president of the Rudreswar Ajanta Club Shymal Chamuah and a key official Jagadish Boro.
