Torch relay for SAG in Itagar

ITAGAR, Feb 1: The State Directorate of Sports is conducting the ‘Torch Relay’ here on Wednesday for the forthcoming South Asian Games slated to be held in Guwahati and Shillong. The relay would be conducted from 8 to 10 am from IG Park covering Bank Tili, C-Sector (Petrol Pump) and would culmite at the park Tadar Appa, director sports informed in a release here today.

The 12th SAG torch would arrive here by road tomorrow. Around 1000 sports persons including eminent sports persolities of the State are expected to participate in the relay. The department has requested all the sports fraternity of the State including State level sports associations, media persons to participate in the mega torch relay. Union Sports & Youth Affairs Ministry has directed the organizing committee to conduct Torch Relay at capitals of the North Eastern States, the release added.
