Torchlight rally in Margherita against Centre’s notification

MARGHERITA, November 2: The All Assam Muslim Yuba Parishad (S), Margherita Regiol Committee on Monday took out a torchlight rally from Margherita Central Field Playground to North Margherita Ranga Mancha. More than 100 activists of All Assam Muslim Yuba Parishad (S) were present today at the torchlight rally. The agitators shouted various slogans against Prime Minister rendra Modi and Union Minister of Sports and Youth Welfare Sarbanda Sonowal. Mun Ansari, president of All Assam Yuba Parishad (S) told this correspondent that the Centre had issued a notification to regularize the stay of minority refugees from Pakistan and Bangladesh, which he said was not acceptable.  “We will continue our protest till the Central Government does not withdraw the circular,” said Ansari. Moinul Haque Talukdar, vice-president of All Assam Muslim Yuba Parishad (S) Central Committee was also present at the torchlight rally and criticized the Prime Minister rendra Modi-led BJP government at the Centre. A memorandum was given to the President of India through the Margherita Police Station Officer.
