Torrential rain causes huge damage

ITANAGAR, July 21: Due to the torrential rainfall last night created havoc in Modirijo Colony, damaging several arterial roads and protection wall of the village, while many two wheelers were washed away on Saturday. City Youth Congress president Kipa Mangal informed that due to heavy downpour the Modirijo river was flowing above the danger mark and has caused the damages. The land protection wall measuring around 30 meters which protect the Modirijo bridge and the areas around has been washed away, he informed. He further said that more than 15 two-wheelers have been washed away by the surging river. He further appealed the Capital district administration and the state government to take corrective measures.
