Tortoise Found in Doomdooma River by a Youth in Assam

Doomdooma, July 24: A tortoise weighing about 10 kg was found in the Doomdooma river by a youth, Dipankar Barman, while fishing with the help of a fishing hook on the bank of the river in Kaliapani area of the town on Monday morning. This is for the first time that an aquatic creature like a tortoise has been found in this river. The tortoise was immediately handed over to the personnel of the forest department who in turn took it to Saikhowaght, about 22 km away from here, and released it in the Brahmaputra.
