Tottenham Hotspur release Togo footballer Adebayor

London, Sep 13: England football club Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday ended the contract of Togo striker Emmanuel Adebayor. "We can confirm that we have reached a mutual agreement with Emmanuel Adebayor which will see him released from his contract with the club," Tottenham said in a statement. Adebayor has not played for the north London club this season, and had been training with the reserves, but rejected the chance to move before the end of the transfer window, insisting that Spurs pay him the five million pounds left on his contract, reports dailymail.co.uk. But that issue appears to have been resolved, with the club confirming that the former Moco, Arsel Real Madrid player had now been released from the contract. IANS
