Tough time for BPF in selections of candidate for Bargaon constituency

KOKRAJHAR February 25: The Bodoland People’s Front (BPF), the ruling party of BTC Executive Council, has been facing a tough time in the selection of party candidate as ticket aspirants are trying to show their strength in front of the party office almost every day. After announcement of third phase, the mes of party candidates in 11 constituencies will be declared by the end of this month.

BPF supporters on Wednesday staged show of strength at BPF central office in Kokrajhar demanding nomition for Rajib Brahma (Bangal) as the new face from Bargaon constituency of Kokrajhar. Thousands of BPF supportes and party workers and various organization members demanded party ticket for Rajib Brahma in lieu of Mono Kumar Brahma who is the existing EM for the constituency.  The supporters took out a rally shouting slogans through JD Road to BPF office and gheraoed the office. They said that common people were supporting Brahma and his victory was certain.

Mudslinging among the BPF workers is going on. BPF leaders as well as workers alleged the existing Executive Member of BTC, Mono Kumar Brahma who has been representing the Bargaon constituency for two terms was corrupt and interested in increasing his persol wealth, and hence they wanted a new candidate.

Ticket aspirant Rajib Brahma said that irrespective of caste, creed and organizations, people were supporting him and with this support his victory was imminent. On the other hand, existing EM of BTC, Mono Kr. Brahma also showed his strength on Tuesday at BPF office. Several supporters shouted slogans and demanded party ticket for him. The supporters said that they wanted Mono Kr. Brahma for the next term as he had completed many projects in the constituency besides bringing a new change in the sports sector.
