Tourism festival from March 24

SHILLONG, March 21: Aimed at promoting tourism in East Jaintia Hills district, the Society for Promotion of Tourism is going to organize a two-day ‘Discover East Jaintia Tourism Festival’ 2017 from March 24 at Khliehriat West Youth Welfare playground here.
Addressing reporters here on Tuesday, Glorious Bareh, coorditor of the Society said, “We want to promote and showcase the various tourist spots which are in plenty in East Jaintia hills to the world through this festival, with an aim to further boost tourism in the region.” He informed that there is abundance of beautiful waterfall, caves etc.., in the region which is still unknown by people from outside. The two day festival will also feature, cultural dance, indigenous food stalls including a beauty pageant contest- Miss Lidakha, 2017 and on March 25.
