Tourist driver drugged, vehicle stolen

SHILLONG, Oct 1: Miscreants drugged the driver of a tourist vehicle and hijacked the Bolero they had requisitioned. According to police, Nitai Dev of Hawakha locality of Tura in West Garo Hills lodged a complaint on Friday evening that on September 24, three people including one woman, who were staying at Hotel Rikman, Tura requisitioned his Bolero vehicle (ML-08D-1287). The vehicle was driven by Md. Feroz Ahmed from Tura to Intertiol Hospital in Guwahati, reportedly for ferrying a patient. However, the next day on September 25 at around 3:05 am, the complaint was informed over phone that his driver has been admitted at Civil Hospital, gaon in Assam. During enquiry it transpired that on the way to Guwahati, the passengers offered some food to the driver and after consuming the same the driver became unconscious. Later, the passengers took away the vehicle along with its documents, the driver’s mobile phone and a bag containing cash Rs 7,000.
