Town awaits Shiva Festival

SIVASAGAR, Feb 12: Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal will visit Sivasagar on February 14 and the district administration is making elaborate arrangement for his visit. Sonowal will iugurate the Intertiol Shiva Festival at Boarding Field which is scheduled to be held simultaneously in connection with Sri Sri Maha Shivratri Puja w.e.f. February 13 to February 16. Besides, he will take part in the iuguration ceremony of new building of Police Reserve, Sivasagar.
As a part of the event, the Sivasagar district administration has launched a massive cleanliness drive in and around the mandir township, banning the use of plastics beyond a certain point, training a group of youth as guides for foreign tourists, improving the road connectivity to historic places and relics spread over the district, illumiting the old Dikhow bridge built by the British in 1937 with glow lights and preparing for a cultural extravaganza at the Shiva Doul premises during the four days by some of the most renowned artists of intertiol repute.
