Traditiol fest organized

Donkamokam, May 30: The Karbis residing mostly in the plain belt began their traditiol fest, ‘Karbi Domahi Arong Aje’ at Bali Arong, Tumpreng in west Karbi Anglong. The three-day programme organized under the banner Karbi Jutang Jubat Chingthur Asong (KJJCA) starting from Friday.  On the first day the delegate meeting was held. On the second day on Saturday, the programme in the morning began by unfurling of the flag by Debor Timung, advisor KJJCA, followed by competition iuguration by Ronjit Engti. Timung, while speaking after unfurling the flag, urged the participants to uphold their tradition and language like other tribals. “We have uniqueness in our rich heritage of composite traditiol culture, inherited from our forefathers, and we need to preserve it,” he said. Karbi Domahi fest is celebrated in the new season. Amri Karbis also celebrate Domahi in the same season.
