Traditiol games exhibition held in Sivasagar

SIVASAGAR, April 5: At a time when people are forgetting the traditiol games, a unique exhibition of traditiol games was held at the Boarding Field in Sivasagar on Thursday. The exhibition of traditiol games includes Mallajuj (Wrestling), Roshi To (Tug of War), Chaku Bandhi Koloh Bhonga (Breaking of Vase with blind-folded eyes), Tel Xo Kol Gosot Boguwa (Climbing of a oiled-Ba Tree), Yogashan, etc. was organized by Sivasagar District Sports department. 

Around 600 participants from various schools including intertiol and tiol Yoga players like Pawan Buragohain, Kribikram Gogoi, Samiran Chetia and others took part in the traditiol game exhibitions.

Sivasagar Deputy Commissioner Pallav Gopal Jha formally iugurated the traditiol game are in presence of hundreds of spectators. He dwelt on the necessary of preservation of indigenous and traditiol games. He also called upon the people to preserve the traditiol games.

Earlier, Sanjay Upaddhyay, District Sports Officer in his welcome address said that the Assam Government had been organizing such traditiol games exhibitions with a view to revive and boost the traditiol games of the State.
