Shillong, June 3:  A conglomerate of traditiol heads today urged all the 30 Members of District Council (MDCs) in the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) to unite so as to ensure that the KHADC (Village Administration) Bill, 2015 is passed. The Synjuk Ki Khlieh Nongsynshar Shnong (SKKNS) under Mawkynrew constituency in East Khasi Hills district has expressed concern over the war of words between the ruling People’s Democratic Front (PDF) and the All Regiol People’s Alliance (ARPA). In its general meeting held on Wednesday, the SKKNS appealed to both the PDF and ARPA MDCs to work together to ensure the safe passage of the bill. “The crucial issue at this point of time is the passage of the bill to end the current stalemate in view of the High Court ruling on December 10 last year which had stripped the powers of the Rangbah Shnong,” the Synjuk said.
