Traffic regulation in city for SAG

SHILLONG, Feb 2: In view of the f 12th South Asian Games, the traffic police have made some changes of traffic routes with effect from Wednesday. Superintendent of police EKH, M Kharkrang said, “No vehicles will be allowed to come from Golf Link Junction towards Polo. Vehicles coming from Mawroh, Shyiap will take the route towards Nongmynsong to 4th Furlong. Vehicle coming from MPRO, Golf Club will take the route from Dog Squad towards Nongmynsong and proceed towards 4th Furlong.”

He informed that vehicles coming from Mawlai and FCI side will take the Mawroh Road towards Golflink to Nongmynsong and 4th Furlong. Vehicles coming from Lumgjingshai and Forest Colony will take the road towards Lawmali to Polo.

However, vehicles going towards Ganesh Das Hospital, Lawmali and Jaiaw will be allowed to proceed via Lumjingshai towards Ganesh Das Hospital Junction He said, vehicles coming from 4th Furlong will not be allowed to cut through and proceed to Ganesh Das Hospital. These vehicles will proceed towards Forest Colony via Buddha Mandir and Ganesh Das Junction.

“Entry of trucks will not be allowed into Shillong City from 08:00 Am to 10:00 pm. This has been done to ensure the smooth flow of traffic to the different game venues. All motorists are requested to cooperate,” he said.
