Traffic woes irk Baihata Chariali residents

From a Correspondent
BAIHATA CHARIALI, March 21: The increasing number of vehicles plying in Baihata Chariali  has created traffic congestion, thereby causing  inconvenience to the commuters.
Baihata Chariali is the junction point of NH-31, NH-15 and Chariali-Ramgaon-grijuli (CRN) PWD road.  The traffic srls on the NH 15 and CRN PWD road, especially during school and office hours, have been creating chaos among people. Besides other vehicles, tractors, dumpers, excavators and 18 wheelers also ply on these roads. Moreover, on Baihata  Chariali-Goreswar road, parking of vehicles  in a disorderly manner has created additiol traffic jams.
Similarly, the bi-weekly bazaar on Sunday and Thursday at Baihata Chariali also creates another problem in smooth surface communication through this road as it is seen that most sellers sit on the road, covering the edge of the road. Although the traffic jams on this road have become a regular feature but to mitigate this problem the administration has not taken any fruitful step despite repeated demands by the people. Rather, the administration had shifted the traffic police unit from this place and now this police point is functioning with a few constables and home guards.
The people of the area have now demanded the higher authority of the administration to look into the matter and deploy traffic police instead of home guards and to check the plying of dumpers, excavators and tractors, especially during school and evening hours.
