Train services continue to be affected on Silchar-Lumding BG section

Silchar, June 15: Fresh landslips continue to affect running of train services on Silchar-Lumding BG hills section. As reported earlier, heavy showers in the hills leading to landslides from the morning of Thursday disrupted the train services. Though the NF Railway authorities initiated prompt action for removing debris of mud and stones from the track, nature again played spoilsport with further landslips between Bandarkhal and Damchara station about 36 km up Badarpur. Work is still in progress in the newly affected locations which will take time. According to the information of the NF Railway, Maligaon hqrs, the running of some trains have either been cancelled or short terminated.

Silchar - Sealdah Kanchanjungha Express will remain partially cancelled between Silchar and Guwahati and will start from Guwahati for Sealdah as scheduled. Silchar– Guwahati Express will remain cancelled. Agartala– Bangalore Humsafar Express will remain partially cancelled between Agartala and Kamakhya. The train will start from Kamakhya on Saturday without any change in its timetable. Silchar–Guwahati Fast Passenger will remain cancelled. Sealdah–Agartala Kanchanjungha Express which started from Sealdah on Thursday will remain partially cancelled between Guwahati and Agartala. Anand Vihar–Agartala Rajdhani Express will be short terminated at Guwahati and will remain partially cancelled between Guwahati and Agartala. Accordingly, Agartala–Anand Vihar Rajdhani Express will start from Guwahati on Tuesday as per timetable. Restoration work is on in the affected locations round the clock. Divisional Railway Manager, Lumding, along with Chief Bridge Engineer from Maligaon is at the site monitoring the restoration work. Efforts are on to restart the train services as early as possible.
