Train services controlled due to landslides

GUWAHATI, April 25: Train services over Lumding–Silchar hill section which resumed on Sunday evening with the movement of goods train had to be controlled again today, due to further landslides at about four places this morning between Lumding and Badarpur. Accordingly train services over the section have been regulated till completion of restoration work, a press release stated.

It further informed that railway officials immediately started restoration work at all sites and train services are expected to resume today itself if no further landslips occur.

Presently 55615 Guwahati – Silchar Fast passenger which left Guwahati on Sunday at 11-55 pm is at Manderdisa & 55616 Silchar – Guwahati Fast passenger which left Silchar today at 05.00 am has been controlled at Badarpur, the release stated.

Weather condition continues to remain very inclement in the affected areas as road communication also remains disrupted to the Barak Valley.
