Training camp for SHG members held

Dibrugarh, Dec  17: A training camp for the members of Self-Help Groups (SHG) was organized under the joint initiative of tiol Agricultural Board and Rural Development Bank (BARD) in collaboration with Assam Gramin Vikas Bank (AGVB), New Market Branch at Rashtra Bhasha Dwip Vidyalaya near Dibrugarh Rail Station on Wednesday. The meeting was presided over by Assam Gramin Vikas Bank’s, New Market Branch Customer Committee president, Bhudev Phukan, while the objectives of the meeting were laid down by the Regiol Mager of the AGV Bank’s Regiol Branch, Rukubuddin Ahmed.  He stated about the purpose of BARD in helping out the members of various SHGs to become fincially self independent and the steps taken in this regard.

The District Development Mager of BARD, Lipi Deori, attended the camp as a specialist and in her speech stated how the SHGs could help themselves through various proposals and inventive schemes. She further forwarded her views on the correct maintence of their audits and accounts.

The training camp was attended by 11 Self Help Groups with a total attendance of 70 members and they were given a loan amount of Rs 25,000.

Bhudev Phukan in his speech stated that all the members of SHGs must sincerely work by maintaining harmony with other members towards achieving their objectives.   Later, speaking at the event, the Branch Mager of AGVB, New Market Branch, Mantu Roy, stated about the bank’s New Insurance Policy and urged upon all to take the benefits of the various schemes of the bank.
