Training on bio pesticides, on-farm production of bio control agents concludes

SHILLONG, April 25: Training on “On- Farm production of Bio Control Agents and Microbial Bio pesticides” was held today at Community Centre, Eden Bari village in order to promote Agro Eco-System Alysis (AESA) based on Plant Health Magement.  The programme was organised by the District Agriculture Office of West and South West Garo Hills in collaboration with tiol Institute of Plant Health Magement (NIPHM), Hyderabad. It may be mentioned that the objective of this training programme is to equip the farmers of the district with the knowledge and hands on production of Bio-Control Agents and Microbial Bio- pesticides in the field. Scientists from NIPHM, Hyderabad, Dr. Vijaya Lakshmi Director, NIPHM, Dr. Girish A G, Assistant Director, and Lavinia, Scientific Officer explained and demonstrated several pest control methods for paddy plant and different vegetables like cabbage, potato, etc, grown in the area as well as for soil treatment.
