Training on youth leadership and community development

Dibrugarh, Jan 23: Nehru Yuva Kendra, Dibrugarh, in association with  Samaj Kalyan Unyan Samity, Dillibari conducted a five-day Training on Youth Leadership and Community Development (TYLCD) at Baghmora Sanskritik Kendra aru Puthibharal Complex recently.

More than 40 participants took part in the training from different places of Tingkhong Development Block.  The iugural programme was held under the chairmanship of Bedabrata Bhuyan, District Youth Co-orditor i/c, Nehru Yuva Kendra, Dibrugarh where Nilmadhab Bora, Assistant Teacher of Baghmora ME School; Bhupen Konch, Headmaster of Baaghmora LP School; and Jyotipriya Konch, advisor of  Samaj Kalyan Unyan Samity, Dillibari were also present. 

Amitabh Bhattacharjee, Director of United Rural Self Employment Training Institution, Dibrugarh; Dr. Mridul Phukan, EO (Veteriry), Tingkhong Development Block; Dr. Rubul Saikia, Veteriry Officer of Joypur Development Block and many others attended the programme as resource persons to impart training on different developmental schemes of their respective departments.  

 The valedictory function of the programme was held with NYK Coorditor, Bedabrata Bhuyan in the chair. Senior Jourlist of Dibrugarh, I. Ahmed, while attending the function as chief guest, in his elaborate address called upon the participants to inculcate the basic qualities of leadership like confidence, focus, perseverance, patience, transparency and inspiration before starting a new project. He also emphasized the proper utilization of available bank loan and its timely repayment for progress and benefit. Citing several examples, Ahmed said an  entrepreneur’s dreams become reality when knowledge and skill combine together.

 The meeting was also addressed, amongst others, by Kushal Konch, member of Baghmora Ward Panchayat,  Tilak Konch, village headman of Baghmora village and Brahmanda Baruah, local youth leader. Apart from the participants, Ranja Das, Gita Rani Gogoi, Monoj Baruah, Himanjali Gogoi, Juli Das, Pinku Thapa, Devajanee Baruah, Dipmi Das and Munmi Sonowal were also present to make the programme a success. The vote of thanks was extended by the president of Samaj Kalyan Unyan Samity, Soli Ojha.
