Training program on burn care at Hojai

  Guwahati, May 25: A training programme on essential burn care was conducted by a social unit Burn Care Foundation (BCF), in collaboration with intertiol organization INTERBURNS, at Hojai on last May 22, 2015. Training on appropriate initial magement of burns at the peripheral hospital, where most of the burn victims first report, was held at the programme. An awareness program on First Aid and prevention of burns was also held, where 212 people participated. Convener of BCF and a reputed burn specialist of the region Dr Bhupendra Prasad Sarma delivered a talk with audio-visual presentation on first aids and prevention of burns and also cleared some misconception regarding first aid and treatment on burns.

A total of 112 doctors (24), nurses (58) and paramedics (30) from Hojai and other parts of the state attended the program. Dr Rabindra th  Majumdar, president of Association of Surgeons of Assam (ASA), Dr Pulakanda Bharali, secretary of ASA and Dr Chaidul Islam, Medical Director of HAMM Hospital, Hojai attended the program and delivered their valuable comments. Majumdar, while lauding the efforts of BCF in furthering the cause of development of Burn Care in the entire North –East,  assured full support  by arranging more such programs under the patroge of. ASA in future. The program was organized under the patroge of ASA, along with its Mid term CME and was hosted by HAMM Hospital, Hojai. Dr Sarma, along with Dr Kuldeep Singh, Plastic and Burn Surgeon from Apollo Hospital, New Delhi and Dr reswar Sarma , Senior Consultant Surgeon NEMCARE Hospital conducted the interactive and practical oriented program in a befitting manner.
