Training programme for officials of autonomous district councils

Kokrajhar, March 7: The three-day training programme on development planning, budgeting and accountability for the officials of Autonomous District Councils (ADC) of north-eastern region organized jointly by the tiol Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRDPR) NERC, Guwahati and Bodoland Territorial Council, Kokrajhar got underway here on Wednesday in the conference hall of the BTC Secretariat. The training programme was participated by the officials and members of Bodoland Territorial Council, Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council, Dima Hasao Autonomous Council and Mar Autonomous Council. It was iugurated by the BTC Principal Secretary Biren Chandra Phukan and attended among others by the NIRDPR official Dr. M.K Shrivastava as resource person. In his iugural speech, Principal Secretary Phukan informed that during the programme, various subjects like Sectoral and Integrated Planning for ADC in the new era of planning and funding, Autonomous District Councils between Centre and State Government: challenges, opportunities and the way forward, budgeting: concept, types and mythology for ADC, accountability and transparency mechanism at ADC would be discussed.
