Training programme for poll officials held

Abhayapuri, March 8: A training programme was held at the Town Hall of Abhayapuri regarding maintence of law and order during the time of Assembly elections. The meeting cum training was presided over by the Bongaigaon DC Biswajit Pegu.  SDO (Civil) of North Salmara, Saranga Pani Sharma, Election Officer Ashrumani Malakar, SP of Bongaigaon district, Extra Election Commissioners Mitali Lahkar, Shrubha Aditya Bora, Kanta Das, and Circle Officer of Boitamari were also present in the programme. All the sector and zol officers from both civil and police department were also present in the meeting. The D.C asked the officials to maintain strictly the law and order during the election time and said that Head Quarter Leave Permission will be granted to any officer only on genuine causes after being reported to the Returning Officer and the District Magistrate.

Every polling station will be provided with enough military forces to avoid any security lapse during the election. He asked all the Zol and the Sector Officers to visit all the polling stations and to notify whether all the basic facilities are available at the station or not and in case of any deficiency to report to the DEO immediately.
