Training programme on laboratory safety held

KALIABOR, Aug 20: A training programme on ‘Laboratory Safety’ under the Star College scheme organized by the Department of Chemistry, Kaliabor College was held on Saturday in the conference hall of Kaliabor College.

In the programme welcome address was presented by the Principal of the College, Dr. HK Chaliha. Resource person of the programme, Dr. Biren Gohain, Technical Officer, Department of Chemical Science, Tezpur University, was introduced by coorditor of the programme, Pratap Medhi, Assistant Professor in Chemistry Department of Kaliabor College. Dr. Gohain in his speech highlighted the safety measures to be taken particularly in college-level laboratories.

More than 60 teachers, students and lab-bearers made the programme successful with their intensive participation. Among others senior teachers of science stream, Dr. P.K. Bhuyan, Dr. B. Kalita, Prof. M. Hoque and Prof. Madhumita Saikia were present in the programme.
