Training programme on life skills concludes

Dibrugarh, Aug 25: The five-day residential training programme on life skills, leadership and persolity development of NSS volunteers, held at Dibrugarh University (DU) under NSS Cell, DU, successfully concluded recently. The workshop was fincially supported by the NSS Regiol Directorate, Guwahati. It is the first of three such training programmes that have been planned. The next two training programmes will be held at JDSG College, Bokahat and Lakhimpur Girls’ College soon. The training programme which started on August 17, was attended by 60 NSS volunteers drawn from Dibrugarh University; Digboi College; Women’s College, Tinsukia; Tinsukia Commerce College; Margherita College; DHSK Commerce College, Dibrugarh; mrup College, Khowang College; Amguri College; zira College; and Joysagar College. The resource persons for the programme were Prof. Alak Kr. Buragohian, Prof. Jiten Hazarika, Satyakam Dutta, Dr. Devid Kardong, Dr. Himadri Barman, Dr. Amar Updhyaya, Dr. Pranjal Buragohian, Chandan Sarma and  kul Chandra Deori.

On the opening day of the training programme, the participants were briefed by Dr. Devid Kardong, coorditor, NSS cell, DU. The formal iuguration was held on August 18 where Vice-Chancellor of Dibrugarh University Prof. Alak Kr. Buragohain, Deputy Commissioner of  Dibrugarh  Laya Madduri, and Dean of Dibrugarh University Prof. Jiten Hazarika were present.

Prof. Buragohain emphasized hard work and the proper utilization of time in his speech. DC Madduri, in her deliberation opined that leadership and persolity needed to be developed from an early age.
