Dibrugarh, May 9: A 10-day training programme on poultry-farming, organized by URSETI, was inaugurated by the AGM of SBI, Diganta Saikia; DGM of UBI, Amitabh Sengupta and senior journalist Ikbal Ahmed recently. The event, held as part of Gram Swaraj Abhiyan, was also attended by the Director of URESTI, Murshid Hasan. Addressing the gathering, the distinguished guests in their respective speeches lauded the measures taken under URSETI to empower the rural youth. They also urged the trainees to make good use of the help extended, and repay the bank loans, for if they did not, they would fail to get similar assistance from financial institutions in the future. The speakers also underscored the importance of innovation in any business, and as such, advised the 33 trainees present to bring innovation to their ventures in order to succeed.
The event also witnessed a felicitation programme where two successful entrepreneurs, who benefitted from an earlier training programme on piggery-farming organized by URSETI, were feted with Assamese gamosa and certificates.
