SHILLONG, April 10: A three-day training of trainers (TOT) programme on Psychosocial Care in Disasters organized by the District Disaster Magement Authority (DDMA) of East Khasi Hills which was held at St. Anthony’s College here concluded recently, Additiol Deputy Commissioner and CEO of DDMA said. The workshop was conducted by the tiol Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences, (Institute of tiol Importance), Bengalaru under the aegis of the USAID-MHA-UNDP partnership project title “Developing Resilient Cities through Risk Reduction in the context of Disasters and Climate Change, which is being implemented in Shillong.

   A total of 33 participants from various government and non-government agencies were trained to become master trainers in the field of psychosocial care, who in turn would capacitate their respective departmental staff on the topic.

Such trained people would be able to render their services in the area of psychosocial care in the event of disaster in the city and neighbouring areas.
