From our Correspondent
TINSUKIA, July 12: The rail blockade programme resorted by Jajatiya Aikya Manch on Tuesday evening at Panitola, a station behind Tinsukia New Station, evoked strong resentment among the daily commuters after the Dibrugarh-Ledo DEMU passenger train was blocked by the agitators demanding granting ST status to the six ethnic communities. The train was made to halt for several hours at Paniitola causing extreme inconvenience to office goers returning home after the day’s work, students and others. Due to blockade, several long distance trains like Kamrup Express and Rajdhani Express were delayed by several hours from the origiting station.
