Trans-Assam cycling expedition flagged off

TAMULPUR, Jan 8: Red Horns Division of Indian Army flagged off a 650 km trans-Assam cycling expedition from January 6 to January 15 for 20 youths from far-flung areas of lbari and Baksa districts of lower Assam under Operation Sadbhaba. The aim of the tour is to create awareness amongst the students about the unity, diversity and secular fabric of the tion, and also expose them to the socio-economic changes and technological advancements in the region. It will also lead to better Army civil relation in the area.
The tour was flagged off from Rangiya. During the 10 days of the expedition, the team will visit the places of interest in Guwahati, gaon, Kaziranga, Numaligarh, Sivasagar, Duliajan and Sadiya. The youths will not only get an opportunity to get an insight into the rich ethnic culture but will also imbibe a team spirit and cohesiveness among each other.
