Transform IGGC into a centre of quality learning: Mein

Itagar, Nov 16: Aruchal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chow Mein has called for transforming Indira Gandhi Government College into an educatiol Institution par excellence and ideal centre of quality learning and teaching.

Iugurating the 27th Annual Day of the college at Tezuin Lohit district on Tuesday, Mein exhorted the faculty members to continue to work with the same zeal and passion to explore as well as to harness the inte literary, cultural and sports talents stored among the students. He urged them to inject innovative ideas and develop critical thinking skills among the students by organizing semirs, symposium, workshops and career counseling apart from regular academic classes, an official report informed here today.

He complemented the efforts and sincerity of the Principal, faculty members and students of the college, saying that it is because of their continued endeavour the college has been awarded B++ Grade by the tiol Assessment & Accreditation Council (AC).

Citing youths as source of strength and future representatives, he exhorted them to lead the society in right directions. He advised the students to maintain strong sense of responsibility, good discipline and character to be the role models for the youth of this region. He also advised them to abstain themselves from using abusive substances, like drugs and alcohol, which may ruin their future. He urged them to actively participate in co-curricular and extra curricular activities, like games and sports, literary and cultural activities for all round development of their persolity. Mein informed that efforts are on to meet the infrastructural and educatiol needs of all the government colleges in the state in phase-wise manner.

The Deputy Chief Minister assured to look into the construction of a Rostrum in the college playground and asked the EE RWD, Tezu to prepare an estimate and submit it for placing in the priority agenda of the AOP in the next fincial year, the report added.
