Tree plantation drive launched in Shillong

SHILLONG, May 31: North Eastern Police Academy, a premier police training institute in the Country, launched a tree plantation drive in the NEPA campus here today, which was attended by officers of the Academy. Various kinds of saplings numbering 3000 were planted in the campus.  Such a tree plantation drive was initiated on the guidance of D R Doley Barman, Director NEPA, keeping in view the alarming issue of global warming and to counter the land-slides, deforestation, etc.
