Trekking expedition to Bendao Baglai waterfall organized

Haflong, September 25: Spectrum, a frontline non-government organization of Haflong, and Samparidisa village committee in collaboration with Dima Hasao Tourism and Assam Rifle 22 Sector, organized a trekking expedition to Bendao Baglai Waterfall, located 4 km away from Samparidisa village and about 18 km from Haflong, on Sunday. Bendao Baglai Waterfall is one of the three waterfalls located on Abung Nullah. The story goes that two sisters out of grief of losing their parents committed suicide at the waterfall, after which the waterfall was med as the Bendao Baglai Waterfall. Jaynoram Dibragede, Gaonbura of Samparidisa village, said that Bendao Baglai Waterfall on Abung Nullah had become an attraction for tourists and it ought to be developed as a tourist spot. More than 55 trekkers from various places of Haflong, including Executive Member, Debojit Bathari and MAC of NC Hills Autonomous Council, Kulendra Daulagupu took part in the trekking expedition.
