Tri services adventure expedition flagged off

Itagar, Sept 12: The Army phase of the Indian Armed Forces Tri Services Adventure Expedition was flagged off on Tuesday from Sapper in West Kameng district of Aruchal Pradesh. Organised by Blazing Sword Division of Gajraj Corps, the ceremony was attended by senior civil administration and military officials, a Defence communiqué informed.

While highlighting the importance of sports and adventure activities in military life, General Officer Commanding of Blazing Sword Division Major General P N Atharayan extended his best wishes to the expedition team and exhorted them to spread the message of goodwill and promote tiol integration.

The expedition would reinforce the spirit of togetherness and further strengthen the essence of camaraderie amongst the three services of the Indian Armed Forces.

The expedition includes an 85- km trek from Sapper (Dirang) to Buragaon in West Kameng district, followed by 103 Km of cycling leg from Buragaon along NH 229, culmiting at Tezpur in Assam.

In the course of the expedition the team would conduct medical camps, visit schools and interact with the students, local youth and villagers to promote tiol integration and increase awareness of Indian Armed Forces,

The Air Force expedition leg would start from September 22 to 26 next at Bagdogra. The expedition would culmite on completion of the val leg at Vishakhapatm from September 27 to October 6 next, which would include sea diving and sailing under the aegis of Eastern val command.
