Tribute paid to Kalpa Chawla

Goalpara, Feb 1: The 14th death anniversary of Kalpa Chawla, the first Indian woman astrout who met an unfortute death in the space shuttle Columbia, was observed on Wednesday at the Kalpa Chawla Memorial Academy, Goalpara.  In this regard, a condolence meeting was arranged at the academy campus being attended by hundreds of its students.  Speaking on the occasion, the Principal AK Ahmed said Kalpa Chawla was an everlasting inspiration for the academy which has been med after her.  Besides floral tribute, a life-size portrait of Kalpa Chawla was also iugurated in the meeting.
