DHEKIAJULI/MORIGAON, March 27: Tribute was paid to Lakshmith Bezbaruah, the pioneer of Assamese literature, on his death anniversary at the Bezbaroa Sanmilan Auditorium of LOKD College Dhekiajuli under the aegis of Sonitpur Zila Xahitya Xabha and in cooperation with the Dhekiajuli Sakha Xahiya Xabha and Language Literature Cultural Study Mancha, LOKD College on Monday. Dr Sukdev Adhikar, Principal of LOKD College, lit the lamp for iugurating the memorial function. The open session was held under the president ship of Dr Swadhita Mahanta, president, Sonitpur Zila Xahitya Xabha.
Participating as the chief guest at the memorial function, Dr Arup Kumar th, lecturer, Tezpur University said that Lakshmith Bezbaruah made a great contribution to promoting the Assamese language. He took the voice of common people to the entire society by acknowledging the feelings of the common people. The central committee members of Axam Xahitya Xabha also recalled Rasaraj Lakshmith Bezbaruah at Morigaon College’s auditorium hall. Dr. Dhrubajyoti Bora, Sahitya Akademi award winner, was the chief guest.
