Tribute paid to soldiers killed in Uri attack

MARGHERITA, September 23: The Assam Bihari garik Bikash Manch, Margherita on Friday paid tribute to the 17 soldiers who were killed in the Uri attack on September 18, near Margherita Bazaar Shiv Mandir.

Activists of Assam Bihari garik Bikash Manch, Margherita lit candles and prayed for the 17 soldiers who were killed at Uri. Dr Om Prakash Sahu, president of Assam Bihari garik Bikash Manch, Margherita, general secretary Ram Hriday Sah (Kanthi), Ram Jatan Verma, Mijjamil Khan, Iliyas Ahmed, Harbansh Singh and many other noted persons were present at the tribute-paying function.

Dr Sahu said that before the Lok Sabha polls, the BJP in their election campaign said that Pakistan would be dealt with an iron hand. But even after two-and- half years in power, the BJP government had not been able to do so even as many Indian soldiers were killed by Pakistani infiltrators.
