The tribute programme began with the lighting of candles by the people present. Dr Om Prakash Sahu, president of Assam Bihari garik Bikash Manch, Margherita, said that those who killed innocent people like farmers, workers, women and children were cowards and inhuman and they were the worst enemies of the tion.

“Hindi-speaking people of Assam have always been an integral part of the greater Assamese society where they have contributed a lot for the development of Assam in every sphere and the killing of Hindi-speaking people of Assam is not new.
